Bdawg says: Have I just enjoyed The Perfect Cigar? Quite possibly.
La Aroma de Cuba is part of the Ashton family of cigars. The Belicoso size of this cigar was ranked the #2 cigar of 2011 by Cigar Aficionado. The wrapper is gorgeous. Cocoa brown colored and perfectly constructed. The draw is nice producing just the right amount of resistance. The ash is long, tight, and salt and pepper colored. The flavor is very complex, smooth, bittersweet cocoa, espresso. Black pepper lingers in the background. The burn is medium slow paced and even.
Is this the perfect cigar? It's awful close. I enjoyed this with a Starbucks bold blend coffee and smoked it right down the the gorgeous, beautiful nub.
***UPDATE 12/23/19*** This cigar was just named as CA's #15 cigar of 2019.
