Bdawg says: In the 1970s, this brand was considered to be a very fine cigar. It was enjoyed by many including US Presidents. It was actually created in Nicaragua’s first cigar factory founded in 1964. However decades of war and Communist rule in Nicaragua destroyed the brand and ruined the factory. This new Joya de Nicaragua Antaño 1970 was created to celebrate the rich heritage it enjoyed in 1970. It is a tremendous smoke!
The wrapper is medium brown, and very well constructed. The cigar is firm, but the draw is easy producing a powdery white ash. The flavor is rich, cedar, cocoa, and earth. The burn was slow and even. Very nice!
