Bdawg says: The Orphan Barrel Whiskey Distilling Co. uses a barrels of whiskey that had been left abandoned at the now-shuttered Stitzel-Weller distillery (of Pappy Van Winkle fame). Orphan Barrel is using these abandoned barrels in a variety of whiskeys; including Old Blowhard is a 26-year-old and Barterhouse is 20. They are both being bottled at the George Dickel facility in Tullahoma, Tennessee. Distillery: Louisville Distilling Company
Proof: 90.2

A dark copper color. Initial taste was overly spicy and somewhat bitter. After sitting on the rocks for a bit. It mellowed out and caramel could be tasted with a hint of mint on the finish. Orphan barrel whiskey is an interesting concept, but this bourbon was just OK.
